Look at the KISS media pack carefully. This will give you a brilliant background to the brand and how they target their audience (important note: it features the old Breakfast presenting team). 

Answer the following questions:

1) Read page 2. What is KISS FM's mission?
-Kiss FM's mission is to deliver the audience the latest trends accross each platform to gain and enterain young people.

2) Look at page 3. What is the target audience for KISS FM? As well as writing the key statistics from the media pack, try and suggest what psychographic groups would fit the KISS audience too.
-The target audience for KISS FM are ages 14-34, 60/40 Female to Male split and united by their love of music and cool stuff they're into right now. The psychographic groups might be people who loves using social media.

3) Now look at page 5 - The KISS network. How does KISS use digital media and technology to reach its audience? 
-KISS use digital media and technology to reach its audience by connecting with audience through a multi-media platform their strategy of presetning content around the music they love and the things they're into.

4) Now look at the other side of page 5. What content do KISS Fresh and KISSTORY offer and how can audiences access those stations?  
-KISS Fresh offer biggets tracks, some of the hottest artists and producers in the industry. They play the biggest urban and rhythmic tunes. Audiences can access these stations as it it available on DAB (In London), Freeview, Sky, plus at KISSFMUK, via the KISS Kube app, on social and at events.
-KISSTORY offer the very best Old Skool and Anthems. Audiences can access these stations as it is available on DAB (In London), Freeview, Sky, plus at KISSFMUK, via the KISS Kube app, on social and at events. 

5) Read page 6. What are the different ways audiences can actively engage with the KISS radio brand?

6) Are listeners to the KISS Breakfast show active or passive? You can argue this point either way - explain your opinion in your answer.
-The listeners to KISS Breakfast shows an active audience:
  • Listeners can send in requests or shout out to friends via Instagram, Snapchat and Tiktok.
  • Perri has over two mllion followers.
  • Download the KISS Kube app stream.
  • runs over 100 events every summer.

7) Now think about the clips you've watched or listened to of the KISS FM Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri. What audience pleasures are offered by the KISS FM Breakfast show? Use Blumler and Katz Uses and Gratifications theory here.
-The audience pleasures that are offered by the KISS FM Breakfast show are:
  • Personal Identity: Teenagers attracted by the 'banter' and informal chat; diverse groups/ethnic minorities.
  • Suerveillance: Link to political movement Black Lives Matter may appeal to black audience.
  • Diversion: Escapism into their world of chat, friendship, and light-hearted entertainment.

8) How have audiences changed in terms of how they listen to music and radio since the 1960s?
-Audiences changed in terms of how they listen to music and radio since the 1960's: Audiences listen to radio mostly teenagers as they are illegal and don't have limitations. However, as the generations get more modern they listen to music more often on some apps. This allows the audience to have better access about the music that they want to listen to. This leads social media to improve and become modern.

9) How does the KISS FM Breakfast show contrast with Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 Breakfast show and the launch of BBC Radio 1?
-KISS FM Breakfast show contrast with Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 Breakfast show as KISS FM's show is more modern and allows audiences to have options on what music generation they would want to listen to as this is a moremodern show. Whislt, Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 is less modern. Their show is illegal, but this allows the show to gain more teenage audience as they don't have limitations and allows audience to be attracted as they have different pleasures. However, BBC Radio 1 had gained audiences from the past generations as their concept it to their taste. Furthermore, their audiences are mostly adults, and they tried to gain teenage audiences.

10) Use Stuart Hall's Reception theory to offer a preferred and oppositional reading of the KISS FM Breakfast show. For the preferred reading, why do fans love the show? On the oppositional side, why might someone criticise the show or not want to listen?
-KISS FM's preffered reading is to make audiences to identify their concept and to allow audiences to look at their shows as to that they have options for both audiences who likes music from the past and music from the present. The oppositional reading is that this migth lead to teenage audiences to rely on their music too much, that would lead them to stay on social media more often as their concept has no limitations.

1) When did KISS FM first launch and what type of station was it then? 
-KISS FM's first launch was on 7th of October 1985 as a pirate radio station.

2) Look at the Bauer Media Group's list of brands. How many different types of media can you find on there? What brands do you recognise? 
-There are 79 diffrent media types that others have different versions. Brands that I can recognise are heat, KISS FM, magic, and Q Radio.

3) How does KISS FM make money? 
-KISS FM make money through advertising, sponsorship and events so need high listening figures to generate cash.

4) How many listeners does the KISS Breakfast show have and how has this changed in recent years?
-KISS Breakfast show have 2m. This had changed in the recent years as they are struggling to maintain their audience in the digital age.

5) How is KISS FM regulated and what can happen if they break the rules?
-KISS FM is regulated by Ofcom and if they break the rules they will be fined.
