Conglomerate ownership is where other companies owned a range of smaller companies (called subsidiaries). It links to Black Widow because Walt Disney Company owns Marvel where they conduct business separately.

3) Analyse the film trailer for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie?
The aspects in the film trailer that tells me that this is a big budget blockbuster movie are because of how they made this movie that contains a lot of settings, where every scene has different settings. They also used costumes that are very agent, iconic, and unique. In this movie they involved different popular artists so that the audience can emphasize the characters. In addition they used a large amount of props which means that they can afford to pay for it which also leads to audience being more interested on the movie.

4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film.
  • Traditional methods - posters and teaser trailers and TV and in cinema.
  • Stars of the film appeared on TV chat shows and press events.

Black Widow's budget was $200m, and it only made $379m at the worldwide box office due to the pandemic. Marvel would have spent well over $100m on marketing the film globally so the profit is very low.

I would consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood Blockbuster as the movie grossed over $379m, the film also received positive review from critics. This movie also became a successful Hollywood blockbuster as the film was produced by Marvel studios and was distributed by Walt Disney, Marvel Studio had been popular over the years as they have different popular characters, and so audience tend to be more interested on their new films as they know that Marvel have satisfactory characters.

The film industry in the UK is regulated by The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?
The age rating for Black Widow was 12A because there are violence and injury detail.

9) Look at the Marvel Black Widow website. How does the website help to promote the film? Give specific examples from the website and how they appeal to the audience.
The website help to promote the film by Cinema: special link with IMAX, DVD and Blu-ray and Streaming: Disney+. They also put the overview and the trailer of the film to let the audience have clues about the film so that they can understand the film better. 

10) Read this feature on Marvel using a fan's tweet to help market the film. Why is audience interaction such an important aspect of modern film marketing? 
Audience interaction is an important aspect of modern film marketing because it can also be a highlight of a brand-new billboard for the film to be more popular and get more reviews. Audience interaction is also needed to know what their likes and dislikes are, they can also spread the film and recommend it to their friends if they loved the film.
